Yours truly was interviewed this week for part of the “Common Sense” series by New City magazine, based in Chicago. The article, titled “Formula Werks Expresses Itself,” is a condensed version of a long-winded interview - I’m super wordy - with Ilana from the publication. You can check out her great article right here, which popped online on New City and Boutiqueville. I’m told this is going to print as well, but we’ll see if that actually comes to fruition. Either way, I’ll probably post the interview in its entirety - all 2,900+ words - in a week or two. Thanks to Ilana and the crew at New City for hollering at us and giving us some shine.

In the house! In case you haven’t ever checked our site, those of our cohorts, or happen to have picked up a copy of this glorious magazine, let us tell you that it should grace each and every household on Planet Earth. Granted, that would mean Ryan and the I Want Your Skull crew would have to press more than 250 limited edition issues, but we figure they’d be more than happy to do it if you all out there in world-land would oblige and buy the damn thing.
Oh, wait. In case you don’t actually know…I Want Your Skull is mainly a blog all about artwork and other products that celebrate the awesome world of - you guessed it - skulls. We’re longtime fans, and family such as Brian Morris and others have produced glorious artwork for their limited edition print version. On top of that, we’ve been featured on the website a few times, so we’re big fans over here. And we would be anyway, because IWYS is just plain dope. Got it?
Well…IWYS #7 was just released, and yes, it’s limited to 250 numbered prints. This new version features fantastic wrap-around cover artwork by, yup, Brian Morris, as well as feature artwork by and/or words with the likes of Lindsey Kuhn, Franche’ Coma (The Misfits), Rhys Cooper, Cassandra Warren, and a whole lot more. Limited edition prints usually come free with the ‘zine as well! Holy shit wtf omg holla! That’s right…And this time, you’ll get a limited serigraph by Drew Millward. That’s what the fuck is up.
So go get that new issue right here, and follow the daily updates that founder Ryan August ceaselessly puts up here. Don’t forget to bookmark that shit, ya heard?!
Pictures below. We, out…

I woke up Sunday morning to an overnight text message from DJ Pickel of the legendary Comeups crew. He was traveling, yet again, and had some feedback on that lovely “Hell Naw” T-shirt we put out. It went:
“fwx feedback - the HELL NAW joint is getting great reception among hard core phish tour dudes and TSA employees @ midway.”
So it goes, so it goes. You gotta love how the only thing he capitalized was the “Hell Naw.” It’s important, and appropriate. And while we might not be big fans of Phish or the TSA, we’re glad that Joey Potts gets his just due with his classic saying from all the folks out there in the world. From psychedelic jam bands to low-paid airport security, you gotta love the flavor that comes from the depths of the brain of the one and only Mr. Potts.
So you know what this means…Go buy that “Hell Naw” shirt and make life better for you and those around you. Damn straight! Build your own in a zillion colourways for both guys and girls. Hell naw!

Everyone around the world knows that street art can have a profound effect on the society that surrounds it. Whether it’s art during our own presidential election in the U.S. or the powerful images that artists have posted in Israel and Palestine - namely during projects like Santa’s Ghetto in Bethlehem - feelings portrayed here make the events that swirl around the art even more powerful. Nowadays, most of you should know that street art can make the world go ’round, and vice versa.
That said, a lot of art has been popping up on the streets of Iran as the people there struggle for their votes and their right to be heard. (As you know, we’re big supporters of the cause.) Below are some images that have been seen on the streets of Iran this week, nod to Andrew Sullivan and FryingPanFire. We don’t know who the artists are, but major props to those involved. More pictures and info in the below links.

The Brothers Washburn over at Color Ink have a new interview up with the better half of the FWX/SBN leadership, art maestro and crazy dreamer Joey Potts. You all know Joey, sure, but see what disturbing revelations these guys extracted from his consistently twirling brain in their new interview with the man himself.
In case you don’t know about the Color Ink Book, these guys get artists from all over to basically create drawings in a coloring book style. They then publish it and the world goes crazy. We here at FWX/SBN had a whole page of Brian Morris (FWX) artwork a couple of issues ago, and this new release features FWX work by Joey along with new work by a ton of artists in, around, or just plain respected by our crew. Go buy one and of course, don’t forget to read Joey’s new interview. Holla!

Hey all, a bit of a different take today due to current events that have unfolded over the last few days. As we are in full support of solidarity for a free Iran, we’ve been inspired to make these “Solidarity” shirts supporting the cause, with proceeds donated to Amnesty International. Shirts are available in three colors for both men and women, mostly in green - signifying solidarity in the fight for a free Iran. For more news on the situation regarding the Iranian election, check out #iranelection on Twitter or the very heavily-updated Daily Dish blog by Andrew Sullivan.
Pass along the info and your support to everyone you know…Solidarity matters! You can also download this image for your Twitter and Facebook pages.
You can order shirts in all colors for both men and women right here: www.solidaritymatters.com

Doin’ it and doin’ it and doin’ it well…Another handful of bangers has just hit the online store, and of course, they’re all Build Your Own! Custom colors, custom lifestyle, custom glory. That’s what’s up.
This time it’s Abe Lincoln Jr., Jose Garibaldi, and yours truly rockin’ the set. Abe throws his take on a couple decades of hip-hop authenticity, Jose gets drippy and scummy, and Escape76 takes our classic “Young & Ruthless” logo and gives it the full-frontal treatment. Build your own today, all are available for both men and women.
Have a good weekend!
