"American Girl Scout"
Special deal! $525.00

"American Girl Scout"
• Size: 18" x 24" x 3/4" (45.7cm x 61cm x 2cm)
• Medium: Acrylic, spray paint & dye on canvas
• Catalog Sheet: PDF
• Price: USD $1,000.00 / Special deal: $525.00
"With this piece, I wanted to create something that reflected how much of the world feels about Americans and the United States in general. The view of a young girl, apparently cute and pretty with bows on her feet, offset by devil's horns, a fighter pilot's mask, and dynamite expresses the conflicted views that the world has of us, and that we may even have of ourselves. I thought Russian was appropriate for this, harkening back to imagery from the Cold War era. The American flag in the background is what it is, slightly covered by pink, a color often used to express innocence and beauty."

"Black Thursday"
Special deal! $450.00

"Black Thursday"
• 24" x 18" x 3/4" (61cm x 45.7cm x 2cm)
• Medium: Acrylic & spray paint on canvas
• Catalog Sheet: PDF
• Price: USD $1,000.00 / Special deal: $450.00
"For this piece, I wanted to express the confusion and convoluted ideals of an explorative, empirical, and ultimately exploitative culture. The statement itself alludes to the irony of our ancestors fleeing their homeland as persecuted individuals, only to destroy a native civilization in America; then turning their sites on other cultures and civilizations across the globe. The idea of the oppressed becoming the oppressor has always intrigued me. And as I'd like to be a proud American, it also represents my disappointment with how our world seems to operate. Regarding the visual perspective, I started with a black layer in order to create bleeding, dirty imagery, before laying down another six layers of color to give it a three-dimensional feel. The title itself refers to July 4, 1776."

"No Child Left Behind"
• 24" x 18" x 3/4" (61cm x 45.7cm x 2cm)
• Medium: Acrylic, spray paint & ink on canvas
• Catalog Sheet: PDF
• Price: USD $1,500.00 SOLD
"This concept arose from what I find to be the confused values of our system, regarding raising children in America. What aims and goals are we raising them with, in our society that is often conflicted between a valuable, learned childhood and a system often riddled with the imagery and reality of violence? The background, written in ink, contains eleven statements regarding this issue. Included with this piece is a handwritten, signed sheet of the entire background text."

"Family Values"
Special deal! $475.00
|
"Family Values"
• Size: 18" x 24" x 3/4" (45.7cm x 61cm x 2cm)
• Medium: Acrylic, spray paint & dye on canvas
• Catalog Sheet: PDF
• Price: USD $900.00 / Special deal: $475.00
"Society's values - and even those of our families - are so convoluted these days, and this piece certainly reflects my thoughts about them. Based on a real photo taken by my good friend, Milwaukee photographer Justin Shady, the thoughts, questions, pride or disappointment that can be evoked by a young girl holding a shotgun are immense and certainly prolific. In viewing this picture, I want people to think about where we have been, where we are, and where we're going as a culture."

"Perception" (framed)

"Perception"
• Size: 20" x 16" x 3/4" (50.8cm x 40.6cm x 2cm)
• Medium: Acrylic, fiberglass & spray paint on canvas
• Catalog Sheet: PDF
• Price: USD $1,500.00 / Special deal: $575.00
"Perception of all things on Earth - including people - is in the eye of the beholder. What do you see when you look at this man? Evil? Good? Terrorism and violence? Peace and friendship? A nomad? A sage? Maybe you see something else. Perhaps you see the plight of struggle, the comfort of wisdom, or the power of faith. Or maybe sadness. Your perception is yours alone, unique in its own right. Good or bad, judge not lest ye be judged."
